Thurmont EDC
The Thurmont Econimic Development Committee is a group of local residents and business owners working to make Thurmont the best community in Maryland!
Membership in the Economic Development Committee is open to any local resident or business person. We invite you to attend our regular meetings on the third Wednesday of each month to learn about our committee and possibly get involved by helping with our projects.

Chairman John Nickerson John moved to Thurmont in 2002 and is an artist and the owner of Gnarly Artly Design Shop. John has been an instrumental component in the marketing and public relations aspect of the group with various promotions such as window painting, sign creation and logo design. Most recently John designed the logos that will be used for all upcoming Flea & Farmers Markets, as well as Furmont Days. He resides in town with his wife and two children.
Treasurer Kristen Long My name is Kristen Long; I have grown up in Thurmont, graduating from Catoctin High school in 1988. I have been married for 23 years to another longtime Thurmont resident Bill Long. I along with my husband Bill and our son Adam (17) live here in Thurmont and have for 18 years. Our oldest son Joshua (20) is a United States Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. I am an active member of the Thurmont Lions Club and enjoy volunteering in many community events. I have worked at PNC Bank for almost 6 years; most of my career has been in Thurmont. I started at PNC as a teller and have worked my way up as a Teller Supervisor, Assistant Branch Manager and now the Branch Manager. I am a huge supporter of the Town of Thurmont. There is nothing better than seeing the town come together for a community event. I actively support the Thurmont Economic Committee with the Business Expo and Saturday Strolls. I am really looking forward to becoming more involved in the different events that the Thurmont EDC has to offer.
